Nommé ainsi par son directeur Charles Dullin, en 1922, le Théâtre de l'Atelier a été inauguré le 23 novembre 1822 sous le nom de Théâtre Montmartre, ce théâtre fut l'un des premiers construits par les frères Seveste.
